Meet Steven: Your Expert in Personalized Fitness and Wellness
Hi, I'm Steven—your partner in personalized fitness and wellness. With a degree in Kinesiology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and over a decade of hands-on experience, I blend science with a passion for helping others thrive. My approach combines insights from evolutionary anthropology and modern science to bridge the gap between our innate biology and today's fast-paced world.
As a wellness professional, I take pride in building meaningful relationships with my clients. I've had the privilege of training a diverse range of individuals—from elite Division 1 college athletes to seniors in their 80s. Whether I’m guiding a seasoned athlete through advanced training or helping an older adult rediscover the joy of movement, I tailor my approach to ensure each client feels empowered and supported on their journey. This broad experience informs my ability to create personalized and effective fitness and wellness programs that meet a wide variety of needs.
My coaching is all about practicality and sustainability. Backed by peer-reviewed science, I focus on integrating fitness, mindfulness, and simple, maintainable lifestyle and behavioral changes that fit seamlessly into your busy schedule without sacrificing well-being. I use a systems-oriented approach to cultivate mindsets centered around continual growth and holistic health, emphasizing that true wellness goes beyond physical appearance to foster lasting, health-promoting changes.
As part of my mission to help others live their most fulfilled lives, I try and lead by example. For me, this means prioritizing daily movement, embracing novel experiences, and spending quality time with loved ones. My passion for adventure and wellness even inspired me to convert a mini school bus into a mobile home, allowing me to travel the United States while continuing to explore and deepen my understanding of health and wellness. Whether it's strength training at the gym, hiking, or rucking along Chicago's lakefront, I find joy in staying active and connected to nature.
At home, I share my life with my partner and our energetic cavapoo, Bailey. On weekends, you can find the three of us exploring Chicago, listening to live music, trying new recipes in the kitchen, or binge-watching old episodes of The Office. Adventure fuels my coaching philosophy and I strive to help my clients explore and expand their potential. Whether it's tackling a new fitness challenge or embracing an outdoor hike, I believe growth comes from stepping out of our comfort zones.
